FAQs

How can you tell if a therapist is a good fit?

Such an important question! When seeking a new therapist, it's good to interview at least three people and pay attention to how it feels to be interacting with them. Listen to your "gut." It's good to ask some pragmatic questions as well as some "big picture" questions to get a sense of how they work. For example, you may ask "How long have you been licensed?" and "About how long have you been working with clients who have [specific condition/concern]" as well as questions like, "Is there a theoretical orientation that guides your work?" and "How do you know when it's time to end therapy?" Make sure the answers make sense to you.

How long and how frequent are sessions?

Sessions typically meet for 50 minutes weekly. However, both session length and frequency may be adjusted around specific needs and circumstances.

What ages do you work with?

I work with children, teens, and adults. I do not work with children younger than 6 years old.

Do you take insurance?

No, I'm not on any insurance panels; all of my clients are self pay. However, I can provide "superbills" on request, which you can use to submit a claim with your insurance provider. Please check with your provider to determine if you have coverage for out-of-network services.
